Brian Dyer is employed as Director at the Nevis Disaster Management Department (NDMD). His responsibilities incorporate the principles of Comprehensive Disaster Management, Formulating Policies and Programs, and Risk Management. In addition, his department provides support services to associate Local, Regional and International Organizations and Agencies.
Prior to assuming the Directorship, Dyer served in the capacity of Project Officer at the NDMD. He was instrumental in the establishment of an Audio Visual Studio at the Department. Mr Dyer worked with many Non-Government Organizations, Agencies and Sports groups on risk reduction initiatives in communities. He is also credited for the Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) movement on Nevis.
Prior to joining the Nevis Disaster Management in 2010, Dyer graduated from the Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach Campus, where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Aviation Business Administration (BSABA) and a minor in Safety Science in 2008, and Masters of Science in Aeronautics, (MSA) with dual specialization in Management and Safety Science in 2009.
Although his career path has led him into the field of Disaster Management, Dyer is an avid aviation enthusiast. He continues to assist with civil aviation matters at the Local, Federal and Regional levels.
